Bromborough is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral, in Merseyside, England. It is situated on the banks of the River Dee, at the confluence with the River Gowy. The population of Bromborough was 12,847 at the 2011 census.

The name Bromborough is derived from the Old English words brom, meaning broom, and burh, meaning fortification.

The area around Bromborough has been settled since prehistoric times. There are indications that a Roman military camp was located here. The first written record of Bromborough is from the Domesday Book of 1086, where it is recorded as part of the Halsall manor.
